Fontänhuset (Fountain House) is a worldwide community for people who in one way or another have experience with mental illness.
Mental illness is defined very broadly, and pretty much anyone who feels the need to join a supportive and understanding community is free to join.
At Fontänhuset, we as members do a bunch of different things. We do household chores, we write a paper that comes out 4 times every year, we do gardening, we cook, and we socialize.
Fontänhuset Älmhult cooperate with ABF (education for workers). One of the areas where we cooperate is in language learning. Together with ABF, we host the SpråkCafé on tuesdays and thirsdays. This is a great way to learn swedish while also connecting with different cultures and traditions, in the format of everyday conversations with friends and strangers. Look up SpråkCafé Älmhult for more information.
