Älmhult Linnebygdens Ridklubb

Älmhult Linnébyggdens Ridklubb (ÄLiRK) is a well-established riding club and riding school located in the Bockatorp area of Älmhult. Formed through the merger of two local equestrian associations and active since 1982, the club now has around 400 members and serves as one of the region’s key equestrian centres.

Riding School (Ridskolan) — Welcoming All Ages and Skill Levels

The riding school at ÄLiRK offers lessons for everyone, from children as young as five to adults, and from complete beginners to advanced riders. With club-owned horses and a membership-based system, all facilities and horse care are managed by the club, allowing even first-time riders to start confidently.

Lessons are available throughout most of the year, except for a few weeks during the summer, providing a flexible environment for those who want to start riding or return to the sport.

Club Activities — Learning and Competing Together

ÄLiRK is more than just a riding school; it offers a wide range of opportunities as a club. Safety, cooperation, and mutual respect are core values, fostering a supportive environment for all members.

Members at Level 4 and above can borrow club horses for training or competitions, although borrowing requires consultation and agreement with the club. The club also regularly hosts competitions in jumping, dressage, western riding, and Working Equitation (WE). Occasionally, “drop-in” riding sessions are available, welcoming beginners and offering a flexible way to participate.

Education and safety are prioritized: for members participating in competitions, the club provides the “Grönt kort kurs” (Green Card course) to teach essential knowledge, safety, and rules, ensuring high safety standards and responsibility.
